5 million of federal stimulus funding to build water treatment facilities or upgrade sewer systems. The five area projects are part of $130 million of stimulus money designed for such uses statewide Gov. David Paterson said on Thursday. The projects will require jobs from the construction and mining sectors as well as workers specializing in plumbing engineering manufacturing and other positions.

Even though the PA and many donors have invested in establishing a sustainable and equitable water sector access to water resources water infrastructure and institutions remain inadequate. The sector continues to operate in a very inefficient emergency mode with far reaching economic social and environmental consequences. As the region continues to dry out continuing competition over a scarce resource will increase leading to further tensions in an already fragile geopolitical arena.

According to Central Weather Bureau forecast the current plum rain fronts will bring more rain in northern and central Taiwan today. The fronts would move toward the south from yesterday afternoon.
