Rao has said that the administration was taking all measures for the completion of drinking water supply scheme to the Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devasthanams in Vemulawada temple town within one-year period. The Minister along with Vemulawada devasthanam chairman Adi Srinivas and others visited the Elgandal fort area on the shores of LMD reservoir to inspect the drinking water supply scheme works on Friday. The authorities were laying pipeline from the reservoir to the Vemulawada temple town for the supply of drinking water at a cost of Rs.

Bore wells started to be dug and groundwater exploited from 100’s of feet depth.

After receiving its full share from Uttar Pradesh for the Sonia Vihar water treatment plant, the city is now engaged in a bitter tussle with Haryana for its share of water released by the Bhakra Beas Management Board. While the Delhi Jal Board has been pressing for release of its rightful share, Haryana claims it is yet to receive additional supply for Delhi. Coming to Delhi’s aid, the Central Water Commission too has directed Haryana to pass on the city’s share, but the order so far has not been followed. Entitled to 125 cusecs “Delhi is entitled to 125 cusecs of water for the Nangloi water treatment plant, but Haryana has been refusing to release it on the grounds that it is being taken from their share.
